The curtain will rise in July 2012 as talented young women via for the title and crown of Miss Millard County. Pageant directors and committee members help the contestants prepare for the competition weeks in advance with various workshops and practices to help the girls learn how to best showcase their personalities, talents, speaking skills, and poise.

The reigning Miss Millard County 2011, Briana Lemon, is the daughter of Wade and Madean Lemon of Holden. She graduated from Millard High School where she was very involved with her school. She was a 2 time state champion drill team member, Head Cheerleader, and played on the girls soccer team that set a state record for 60 consecutive regional wins. She is now attending Southern Utah University in St George where she is serving as ambassador. She is majoring in nutrition. Her platform this year is working with the youth to get them “Moving and staying physically fit”. She is an active example of the platform she represents. She represented Millard County in the 2011 Miss Utah Pageant. Briana’s Attendant is Shelby Carter daughter of Darren and Patty Carter.

This year’s Miss Millard County Outstanding Teen 2011 is Cassie Allred. Cassie is the daughter of Paul and Kimberly Caso of Meadow and Jason Allred of South Jordan. Cassie is a Junior at Millard High School. Her hobbies include playing drums, guitar, and also composing her own music. She loves everything outdoors. She loves to camp, hike, ride dirt bikes and 4 wheelers, repelling, riding horses, and spending time with her friends and family. Cassie is an active member of FFA and a member of the Millard High Band as a drummer. She is a friend to everyone and loves children. Cassie’s platform is “Drug Awareness”. She represented Millard County at the Miss Utah Outstanding Teen Pageant where she performed a self composed piece called “Crazy”. After graduation she plans to get her degree in Pediatric Nursing. Cassie loves Millard County and has enjoyed spending time serving in the community and getting to meet new friends. Cassie’s Attendant is Shanee Mathews daughter of Todd and Lauri Mathews.

Millard County Junior Miss 2011 is McKensi Orullian. She is the daughter of Wes and Lynn Bates and John and Jamie Orullian. She is a 5th grader at Fillmore Middle School where she is a part of the school newspaper staff. She has been dancing for 7 years and is now a member of the Elite Cheer Team. MeKensi likes to “always be involved” and is looking forward to representing Millard County throughout the year. McKensi’s Attendant is Pyper Mathews daughter of Todd and Lauri Mathews.

Little Miss Millard 2011 is the daughter of Mark and Tami Miller of Fillmore. Rylee is the youngest of 4 kids. Her sisters, McKell and Payton are very proud of her as well as her brother Parker. Rylee was 8 yrs old when she was crowned Little Miss Millard. Rylee has a lot of talents but some of her favorites include singing and playing the piano. She was also the talent winner in the Little Miss competition. She loves to play basketball, soccer, and volleyball and she excels at them all. She has always received straight A’s in school and her studies are very important to her. Her platform is “Reading Awareness”. She has always loved to read. Rylee is a sweet, caring, and kind young lady. Her family is very proud of her and the beautiful young lady she is on the inside, as well as the outside. Rylee’s Attendant is Teigan Mathews daughter of Todd and Lauri Mathews.

As contestants work towards their goal of becoming Miss Millard, they gain self-confidence and poise in many areas of their lives. The competition includes a Judges Interview, Talent, Evening Wear, and Casual Wear. Miss Millard County is a scholarship pageant that enhances girl’s abilities to move forth in life with great self assurance and worth. It enables girl’s to learn to serve others around them as well as learning to work as a team in a professional environment.
