Pioneer Days Celebrations

Hinckley and Scipio residents celebrate Pioneer Day in a big way with a parade, community meals and rodeos. Visitors are invited to participate in the festivities; family, friends, and visitors arrive in the two communities from all directions to be part of the fun. It is also a popular time for traditional family reunions and other celebrations.

2007 events will take place on July 23rd & 24th. The Mascaro's Championship Rodeo will be held on both days at the Hinckley rodeo grounds starting at 7:00 pm. A daylight salute kicks off activities in Hinckley on the 24th, which is Pioneer Day in Utah. The parade will take place that morning, with tons of candy thrown from floats. A program, barbeque luncheon and hootenanny follows.

The Pioneer Days Celebration in Scipio starts on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at the fairgrounds. "Mutten bustin'" begins at 6:30 p.m., with the rodeo following at 8:00 p.m. The fun will continue on Monday July 23rd at the town dinner in the "church park". Come to the parade down Center Street at 10:00am on July 24th. A program put on by the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will follow immediately after the parade in the cultural hall at the church. Families can finish off the day with races and games at the park at 2:00 p.m.
