Miss Millard Scholarship Pageant

      Bealynn Taylor, Miss Millard 2007
Kaitlynn Riding & Bealynn Taylor
The curtain rises the first weekend of each August as talented young women vie for the title and crown of Miss Millard County. Pageant directors and committee members help the contestants prepare for the competition weeks in advance with various workshops and practices to help the girls learn how to best showcase their personalities, talents, speaking skills, and poise which help qualify them to serve as ambassadors for Millard County.

Miss Millard County 2007 is Bealynn Taylor, daughter of Dave and Una Rae Taylor. She is currently a sophomore at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah. Bealyn has participated in and made appearances at many county events, parades, and festivals, including The Old Capitol Arts Festival, Delta's Tree Festival and light parade, Oak City Days, the Fourth of July, Delta's many Centennial Celebration Festivals, and reigning over the Millard County Fair to name a few. Bealyn is outgoing, pleasant, and extremely talented. She takes her duties seriously and is an excellent ambassador for Millard County, going above and beyond her normal call of duty.

As contestants work towards their goal of becoming Miss Millard they gain self-confidence and poise in many areas that are applicable as they continue their education, join the workforce, and continue on with their lives. Competition begins with the Judges' Interview, which is 40 percent of the total score. The casual wear portion counts as 10 percent of the score. Contestants perform their talents the evening of the pageant, which counts as 30 percent. Evening wear is scored at 10 percent of the total score. The remaining 10 percent of contestants' scores is given during two on-stage questions.

Miss Millard and her attendants begin their official duties at the Millard County Fair and play an important role in its success. They also participate in parades, speaking engagements, and special events throughout the year.

Miss Millard receives a $2250 scholarship and her attendants and other finalists are also presented scholarships and/or cash prizes.

This year's Little Miss Millard is Kaitlynn Riding, daughter of Randy and Lesa Riding of Hinckley. She is 11 years old and is a 5th grader at Delta North Elementary. Kaitlynn serves along side Bealynn in representing the county and presiding over many functions.
